Jared Borgetti is a former Mexican professional football player, who played as a forward. He was born on August 14, 1973, in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico. He is considered one of the greatest Mexican footballers of all time.
Borgetti began his professional football career in 1994 with Atlas, where he scored 18 goals in 44 appearances, paving the way for him to play for other Mexican clubs such as Santos Laguna, Pachuca, and Cruz Azul. In 2004, he became the first Mexican player to sign with a European club when he joined the English side Bolton Wanderers.
Borgetti is the top scorer in the history of the Mexican national team, having scored 46 goals in 89 appearances. He represented Mexico in three FIFA World Cups: in 2002, 2006, and 2010, and was a key player in the team's success.
After retiring from professional football in 2010, Borgetti has worked as a pundit for television networks such as Fox Sports and ESPN.
